The Al-Khalid tank belongs to the category of Pakistan’s indiginously developed defense equipment which has always been a source of Pride to the Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces. The Al-Khalid is a major achievement of the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).
The information presented in this column has been collected from various reliable sources of information available on the internet and aims at giving you an insight into Pakistan’s technological supremacy over the Indian military, which is a recognized fact.
The Al-Khalid is a ‘main battle tank’ (MBT) and its development began as far back as in 1988. The design and manufacturing of the tank was a joint effort of Pakistan and China.
Interestingly, the Al-Khalid is lighter and smaller in size compared to tanks of its class found in the west and is based on the Chinese type-90 main battle tank project.
Weighing around 46 tons, the Al-Khalid is easier to transport as compared to other major tanks in use by strong militaries across the world. The tank has a length of 10.07 meters, a width of 3.50 meters and a height of 2.40 meters. The tank can accommodate a crew of three personnel. The tank can easily pass through water obstacles of up to 5 meters deep, thanks to a built in snorkel system.
The Al-Khalid comes with a 125mm smoothbore gun which can also fire certain missiles. It is also equipped with a 7.62mm-coaxial machine gun, a 12.7mm externally-mounted air-defence machine gun that can be fired with the hatch closed, and smoke grenade launchers. (more…)
Discredible India

The Mumbai blasts on the 26th of Nov 08 sent panic waves across India. The three day melodrama and carelessly engineered scheme lead to the most preposterous allegations that blame game history has revealed.
The Indian media had passed its judgment within only a couple of hours into the attack. It was convinced that 10 men had taken a cruise from Karachi to Mumbai, fully equipped with ammunition and explosive material, bypassed the Coast Guard, and made their way into the heart of the city. One of the reports had a fisherman claiming that he had himself questioned one of the terrorists, after seeing the explosives in the bag. It is a wonder how the reporter could keep a straight face as this fisherman armed with a fishing line in one hand and a net in the other, claimed to be nothing short of Superman, while the terrorist responsible for killing so many people was meek enough to simply continue the remaining journey on foot. Within minutes, they had an animation/carton film to depict his tale. While flipping news channels, I came across a film trailer, and I said to myself, damn that Ram Gopal Warma, he does not give up making atrocious Hollywood rip off suspense thrillers…only it wasn’t a trailer, but a documentary on one of the Indian channels, complete with music effects. Still, the Indian Media’s propaganda has been rather rusty. The channels could not decide on the number of the terrorists, which ranged from 9 to 15, or the name of the mastermind [Kamal, Qasab or Rahman chacha being some of the options} There was ambiguity about whether the terrorists had spent a night in some hotel, or come right before the attacks. The channels made a mockery out of this tragedy. (more…)

America is collapsing under systems and practices of its own. In such turbulent times, when not only the USA but Europe as well, face this man made financial catastrophe – the world is looking towards China with hope and despair! Why are we still allied to the USA? How do we define the terms friend, ally and enemy? (more…)
PAF jets secure our air space as US spy jet retreats

A sigh of relief for the Pakistani nation at last! The Pakistan air force decided to send in its jets to fly over North Waziristan to keep a check on Pakistan’s air space violations by the United States, which is being seen as a very strong signal internationally.
A US spy plane had entered Pakistani air space but disappeared soon after the emergence of PAF fighter jets.
Locals of FATA have expressed a sigh of relief and satisfaction over the PAF flights.
The United States had publicly announced in recent days that it will carry out attacks in Pakistani territory and will only inform the Pakistani government. The United States categorically said that it will not ask for Pakistan’s permission, which invited a strong statement from the Chief of Pakistani armed forces, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani. (more…)
Wake up, we are already at War!
5The number of missile attacks by pilot less Predator drones in Pakistan has more than tripled in the past year. Pakistani officials reported 11 such strikes this year, compared to three strikes in 2007. The strikes continue, and all we get is a grin from the President, or a statement such as “This is a war which is against Pakistan. And we’ll fight for our own past. And that is because I have lost my own leader, Benazir Bhutto, because of the militants” from the Prime Minister. Wake up, we are already at War!
