Parachinar does not need a War against Terror?
6I have written on this topic occasionally for over 2 years now on my blog here. I also raised this issue in a piece I did for the Global Voices Online and how the situation had actually turned into a humanitarian crisis.
It appears as if the War on Terror is spread around the whole world except for this forsaken heaven on earth, Parachinar, where the Taliban have been brutally killing the local Shi’ite population.
Recently, children orphaned by the Taliban Holocaust, staged a demonstration in front of the National Press Club in Islamabad. They said they had come out to ask for justice because the government and authorities paid no heed to what their elders had been saying, demanding and peacefully demonstrating in front of the National Assembly in Islamabad and other places.
They asked the authorities What their fault is and why all routes that lead to their homes are under Taliban control. Is this really how helpless the Pakistan government is against Taliban insurgency? (more…)
US Ambassador Patterson MUST be EXPELLED

‘You cannot tolerate vipers in your bosom without getting bitten,’ Ambassador Patterson said. ‘Our concern is whether Pakistan really controls its territory. There are people who do not threaten Pakistan but who are extremely important to us.’’
After controlled media leaks about US concerns of a Taliban ‘safe-haven’ in Quetta, the US Ambassador in Pakistan has come out and spoken to the media about it. Instead of a denial of reports that the US might attack the provincial capital of Baluchistan with drones, she says the US will have to do what it has to do to take out terrorists. (more…)
IDP’s Calling – Anyone for Relief efforts?
6Last year, when a calamity hit Balochistan, we responded with FAST Relief. A well coordinated effort of us students at FAST Karachi. We raised quite a lot of money and made sure every penny of it was spent for the right purpose. We focused on medical aid and bought important medicine for daily use.
Now we have another humanitarian crisis knocking our door, that of the internally displaced persons (IDP’s). People who are leaving their villages and home-towns to avoid the military offiensive against Taliban militants. Are we ready to respond to this call? Will another FAST Relief rise in our absence, now that we have almost graduated?
Do we have people here to answer this call? Can we stand up, as responsible members of the society and do something again from Karachi and launch a well coordinated effort and provide some relief to the IDP’s?
Let us help the Pakistan Army restore peace to our Northern Areas. Let us stand together as a nation and prove that nobody is stronger than us.
