Amin Fahim & Ishaq Dar meet Musharraf in Dubai
Jul 13th

Well, it looks like things are not too bad after all. Or is it just that Amin Fahim and Ishaq Dar have a different personal point-of-view about him? Whatever the case, the recent meeting at a wedding in Dubai is definitely something both the PPP and the PML-N would not want to boast about. Here is what the Gulf News reports:
…Some interesting encounters were witnessed. A meeting between Musharraf and PPP stalwart Makhdoom Ameen Fahim raised some eyebrows as Fahim dashed to greet Musharraf just before he was leaving. They shook hands and exchanged a few words with broad smiles on their faces…
and
…Just a minute earlier, as Musharraf was leaving the reception hall, senior PML(N) leader Ishaq Dar, a close aid of Nawaz Sharif, also shook hands with Musharraf…
What happened Mr. Dar? Don’t you want him hanged for ‘treason’, like you call it?

No to the President, No to the Media
Oct 27th
If there was to be a sequel to the movie Mr. Bean’s Holiday, it would be called President Goes to the USA. While Mr. President had a rendezvous half way across the globe with ex girl friends and beauty pageant winners, those back home wished he hadn’t left Islamabad in the first place. The media got its much alleged freedom, but how has that helped us? If the media is so responsible and its role is so vital, why have things gone as far as they have? WHERE IS THE MEDIA? Where are the anchors and the journalists who wanted to jump at every chance? They have the resources to interview sought after terrorists, but lack the guts to confront those in the government. Mr. President, if you want to be the savior you claim you are, stop playing in the hands of our enemies, bring about change, or it will force itself on you.

Who is speaking through Zardari? He has termed the freedom fighters in the Kashmir valley as ‘terrorists’. The U-turns and immature statements made by the PPP government and the President have been depressing and frustrating at the same time. They seem to be adamant to change what we have stood for over the past 60 years. Zardari has also claimed that the USA and Pakistan have an understanding on US attacks inside Pakistani territory. Suspicions are now running deep in the Pakistani society! Frustration is growing by the hour!

A sigh of relief for the Pakistani nation at last! The Pakistan air force decided to send in its jets to fly over North Waziristan to keep a check on Pakistan’s air space violations by the United States, which is being seen as a very strong signal internationally.
A US spy plane had entered Pakistani air space but disappeared soon after the emergence of PAF fighter jets.
Locals of FATA have expressed a sigh of relief and satisfaction over the PAF flights.
The United States had publicly announced in recent days that it will carry out attacks in Pakistani territory and will only inform the Pakistani government. The United States categorically said that it will not ask for Pakistan’s permission, which invited a strong statement from the Chief of Pakistani armed forces, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani. More >
Pervez Musharraf: Pakistan’s Only Real Democrat in 40 Years

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—While Musharraf may be called a dictator; it is his democratic policies that have made the maximum contribution to his unpopularity. He gave the media its much awaited freedom. The media wanted to use its freedom to the full it found an easy target in a tolerant and democratic-minded military ruler. Live current affair talk shows replaced the daily soaps at tea time, and news anchors took the place of movie stars. More >
