FBI confusion over Ajmal Kasab’s Origin
With this first post in the year 2009, I am presenting some good news to the people of Pakistan. The end of the year also marks a total of 1000 comments for this blog.
A 5-member team of the American FBI has been in Pakistan, investigating the Mumbai drama. They visited Fareedkot today, the small village the Indians claim Ajmal Kasab was from.
They found NO proof and hence have declared that Ajmal Kasab has no links to Pakistan. India is facing serious humiliation from the international community over a hysterical response it had staged against Pakistan within minutes after the attack began.
Update:
The Daily Dawn has reported that the interior ministry has officially expressed their point of view that they do not know of any such activity and that it was impossible for the FBI to conduct such a visit to Fareedkot without informing the Pakistan government.
In a carefully crafted statement, however, Richard Kolko of the FBI says:
“The FBI continues to assist Indian authorities with their investigation. We will work with the Indian authorities and our partners to follow leads wherever they may take us.”
When asked if an FBI team had visited Faridkot, Mr Kolko said:
“We are unable to provide details of what is being done. We refer you to Indian authorities or the US State Department for any additional information.”
This appears to be face saving under Indian and US government pressure as all parties concerned have refused to officially accept OR deny the FBI visit.
Thanks to our Indian visitor, Dhananjay, for pointing out the ‘official ambiguity’.

Update 7th january, 2009
Various news channels are reporting that the Pakistani government has acknlowged and accepted that Ajmal Kasab is a Pakistan, despite the fact that NO record of his nationality exists in Pakistan’s computerized records at NADRA.
India buckles under pressure

Some have dubbed it as Pakistan’s victory in the first round; some believe it is a major diplomatic edge that Pakistan has gained in the international community while some think that this may be deception tactics being used by India. Whatever one believes, it is clear that India has ‘toned down’ its war rhetoric and unjustified demands all of a sudden.
War is definitely NOT the option, but not responding to dirt being thrown upon the Pakistani nation without justification is not acceptable either. It is good to see the war rhetoric being toned down.
The past week saw a sudden escalation of tensions after India tried to press the pressure paddle on Pakistan. Pakistan responded well, forcing a sudden u-turn in Indian government claims.
In this analysis, let me take you through how it has all shaped up recently.
Pakistan’s Military Advantage: Al-Khalid Tank MBT-2000

Saturday, 27th December – 2008
The Al-Khalid tank belongs to the category of Pakistan’s indiginously developed defense equipment which has always been a source of Pride to the Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces. The Al-Khalid is a major achievement of the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).
The information presented in this column has been collected from various reliable sources of information available on the internet and aims at giving you an insight into Pakistan’s technological supremacy over the Indian military, which is a recognized fact.
The Al-Khalid is a ‘main battle tank’ (MBT) and its development began as far back as in 1988. The design and manufacturing of the tank was a joint effort of Pakistan and China.
Interestingly, the Al-Khalid is lighter and smaller in size compared to tanks of its class found in the west and is based on the Chinese type-90 main battle tank project.
Weighing around 46 tons, the Al-Khalid is easier to transport as compared to other major tanks in use by strong militaries across the world. The tank has a length of 10.07 meters, a width of 3.50 meters and a height of 2.40 meters. The tank can accommodate a crew of three personnel. The tank can easily pass through water obstacles of up to 5 meters deep, thanks to a built in snorkel system.
The Al-Khalid comes with a 125mm smoothbore gun which can also fire certain missiles. It is also equipped with a 7.62mm-coaxial machine gun, a 12.7mm externally-mounted air-defence machine gun that can be fired with the hatch closed, and smoke grenade launchers. (more…)
Indian spy arrested for Lahore car bombing
38On Wednesday morning, a car bomb exploded inside a government residential area, some saying outside the Bahawalpur house. A woman died as a result and around 5 people were injured and none are critical, thankfully.
Latest updates are worth welcoming as the Pakistani authorities for the first time in several years have publicly declared arresting an Indian spy for the blast.
Sutish Anand Shukla was arrested from Lahore yesterday who first identified himself as ‘Munir’, a Pakistani resident. As interrogation and investigation progressed, a fake NIC was recovered from his possession. He has been an employee at the Indian high commission in the UK for three years in the past.
There you go India, this is the first step. All Pakistani’s pray that our law enforcement agencies will soon expose Indian involvement in all our internal unrest soon.
Our terror, their terror
8An interesting read indeed. The column was published in the Hindustan times. The writer, Vir Sanghvi, exposes the BJP’s double standards and how Muslims are victimized in India.
Shortly before LK Advani spoke at the HT Summit on Friday, I was chatting to Ajit Doval. Though he is not yet a household name, Doval is a former director of the Intelligence Bureau who was close to Advani when the latter was Home Minister and he will probably be National Security Advisor if the BJP comes to power.
As Advani has — by his own admission — been reluctant to say very much about the allegations of terrorism against various militant Hindus, I asked Doval how he viewed the arrests and the claims made by the Anti Terror Squad (ATS).
Doval’s response was that the term ‘Hindu terror’ worried him. There were, he said, two dimensions to any battle against terror. The first was law and order. You should treat all terrorists as murderers regardless of their religions, ethnic origins or whatever. (more…)
