India buckles under pressure

pmn_m29By Ammar Faheem

Sunday, December 29 – 2008

Some have dubbed it as Pakistan’s victory in the first round; some believe it is a major diplomatic edge that Pakistan has gained in the international community while some think that this may be deception tactics being used by India. Whatever one believes, it is clear that India has ‘toned down’ its war rhetoric and unjustified demands all of a sudden.

War is definitely NOT the option, but not responding to dirt being thrown upon the Pakistani nation without justification is not acceptable either. It is good to see the war rhetoric being toned down.

The past week saw a sudden escalation of tensions after India tried to press the pressure paddle on Pakistan. Pakistan responded well, forcing a sudden u-turn in Indian government claims.

In this analysis, let me take you through how it has all shaped up recently.

PAF jets secure our air space as US spy jet retreats

The Pakistani JF-17 Thunder flying proudly in Pakistani air space!

By Syed Ammar F.

Sunday, 14th September – 2008

A sigh of relief for the Pakistani nation at last! The Pakistan air force decided to send in its jets to fly over North Waziristan to keep a check on Pakistan’s air space violations by the United States, which is being seen as a very strong signal internationally.

A US spy plane had entered Pakistani air space but disappeared soon after the emergence of PAF fighter jets.

Locals of FATA have expressed a sigh of relief and satisfaction over the PAF flights.

The United States had publicly announced in recent days that it will carry out attacks in Pakistani territory and will only inform the Pakistani government. The United States categorically said that it will not ask for Pakistan’s permission, which invited a strong statement from the Chief of Pakistani armed forces, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani. More >

India is ready for war: Get ready, Pakistan!

Enemies of Pakistan are on their toes as this should be the best time for them to do whatever they can to serve their vested interests. A meeting took place in India for attacks on strategic Pakistani military assets, attended by representatives from the CIA, MI-6, RAW and the MOSSAD. The Indian defense minister has strictly warned Pakistan that India is ready for “any eventuality” if Pakistan does not stop firing across the LoC, which is false.

Limits crossed: Afghan President threatens operations inside Pakistan!

This is the absolute limit. After a gross violation of Pakistan borders by Afghan forces on June 11, their puppet-cum-president Hamid Karzai has come out in the open and threatened that Afghan forces will come into Pakistan to hunt down the Taliban and other terrorists. What is our leadership doing?

I give full credit to our internal instability, thanks to inefficient leadership, a lawyers movement and a morally corrupt mindset of our leaders!

The Shameless Ambassador to the United States!

We recently appointed a Pakistani ‘neocon’ as our ambassador to the United States of America, Mr. Hussain Haqqani. After the recent attack on Pakistani forces, THIS is what our shameless ambassador has to say about the incident:

Despite the “unacceptable” incident, Pakistan will continue to fight extremists within its own borders.

“We will continue to cooperate with our partners while trying to get to the bottom of this particular incident and to make sure that no such incidents take place in the future.”

Sigh! He is more of an American than a Pakistani. Are we left with any other words to condemn his remarks? I might find some, but I am in no mood to write any!

US ‘cowardly’ attack and attempt to occupy Pakistani territory!

The night between the tenth and eleventh of June 2008 witnessed a ‘cowardly’ attack from the coalition forces based in Afghanistan that has left at least 13 Pakistani soldiers martyred, including a Major, and what is frightful is the fact that more than 50 soldiers are still missing. The missile attack was possibly launched using unmanned drones followed by a ground attack by Afghan forces.

This is what happens when you bend without limits. This is what happens when you say YES to everything they say. This huge military loss is a saddening incidence, which clearly shows the downright disrespect of Pakistani sovereignty by the United States and its coalition forces. More >
