Responding to the Energy crisis with SNG?

3

Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) is a blend of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Air that is a direct replacement source for Natural Gas. Working on the fundamentals of fuel interchangebility, the LPG-Air mix/blending is an invisible application of LPG not known to many.

Opportunities

The opportunities SNG, also known as Substitute Natural Gas, provide include:

  • Using it as an industrial back-up (during the Natural Gas shutdown/curtailments).
  • Using it a base fuel to serve area not under service of Natural Gas.
  • Using it to suppliment Natural Gas during peak demands known as peak shaving.

“This would normally be a rather pleasant time of the day, 45 minutes past 6PM in the evening, but it is dark, very dark outside. I can hear the deafening roar of the skies as the powerful wind howls past by my window. It is a vicious storm brewing up as it begins to rain mercilessly. I will have to choose whether I have to leave for home or wait till the storm subsides”, Ali was thinking and talking to himself in absolute silence.

It had been a regular day at work for him and for all that he knew about Karachi, he was sure his ride home was going to be nothing short of war. He was sure the streets would be flooded and transportation would already have come to a grinding halt. Ali was sure he will find no electricity when he gets home; their power production units either ‘trip’ or they shut them down when it rains.

Flood Disaster BIGGER than TSUNAMI, Haiti: UN

1

The United Nations says the Flood Disaster that has hit our beloved homeland and our people is a bigger disaster than the three big disasters of the very recent past – Combined! These are the Tsunami of 2004, the Kashmir Earthquake of 2005 and the recent Haiti Earthquake.

We need to stand up and help ourselves. I am sure if the people of Pakistan unite and come forward with open hearts and minds, we can save our nation from this huge calamity.

We also need international aid – and we can only hope that the most corrupt government Pakistan has EVER seen in 65 years does not eat it all up – we desperately need international aid. We CANNOT allow extremist organizations to stand up to this occasion and use their help to further their violent and fascist designs in our country.

Are we Ready for our Imam?

1

I do not know who wrote this story, it surely appears to be fictional, but that is not the point. This short story will make you want to cry, are we ready? What have we been doing with our lives? Why are we so obsessed in little things that we can so easily avoid such as movies and music; things that deviate us from the right path?

Short Story: Are we ready for Zahoor-e-Imam Mahdi (ATFS)

I don’t quite understand whether it was real or a dream. I only remember that it was late in the night and I was sitting on my favorite sofa with an article titled “Philosophy of Awaiting” in my hands. I was reading the letter of Imam Mahdi (atfs) addressed to Shaikh Mufeed (ra), it said:

“We are not negligent of your affairs and are not forgetful of your remembrance. Had it been so, then terrible calamities would have struck you and your enemies would have destroyed you. Fear Allah, strengthen your hands, so that we may relieve you of the tribulations that have afflicted you.” (Beharul-Anwar, Vol.53, Chap.21)
