It’s raging on, the broadband evolution in Pakistan, especially wireless. With Wateen launching the world’s first country-wide deployment of WiMAX last year, an upcoming WiMAX boom was strongly felt in Pakistan.
And here we are, with Mobilink in line with their wireless broadband offering based on WiMAX. Also, PTCL’s smart tv has been launched this August. I will also be giving you a sneak into the soft-launch of WorldCall’s EVDO.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—While Musharraf may be called a dictator; it is his democratic policies that have made the maximum contribution to his unpopularity. He gave the media its much awaited freedom. The media wanted to use its freedom to the full it found an easy target in a tolerant and democratic-minded military ruler. The Inter Services Intelligence agency of Pakistan, the ISI, through a notification issued by the cabinet division was put under the direct control of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. This was done on the 26th of July, sometime in the evening. The notification issued also put the IB under the administrative, financial and operational control of the interior ministry. The ISI has worked under the control of the chief executive (Prime Minister) of the country in the past through the Ministry of Defense. More >

The Pakistan People’s Party demanded an International investigation after the assassination of former premier, Benazir Bhutto, when they were not in the government. That demand was not fulfilled.
A logical explanation at that time behind this demand was distrust in the previous government. But after taking over the government, all institutions – security and investigations included – fall under the new government. How do they justify it now? More >
