Millions of Iranians mark victory of Islamic Revolution
Feb 11th
[ PressTV Report ] Millions of Iranians across the country have taken to the streets to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
On this day back in 1979, the Iranian nation toppled the US backed Pahlavi regime, ending Iranian monarchy.
The Islamic Revolution, under the guidance of its founder late Imam Khomeini, brought a new political system based on Islam and democracy.
Huge demonstrations were held all across the nation on Thursday in commemoration of the occasion.
In the capital Tehran, an extraordinarily high number of people from all walks of life marched across the city and gathered at Azadi (Freedom) Square to take part in the festivities. They were carrying banners denouncing the enemies of the country.

Karbala-e-Karachi!
Dec 29th
Every day is Aashoora! Every Land is Karbala! What happened yesterday in Karachi is indeed a testimony of the statement. The blast has claimed more than 43 lives and over 80 people are injured. This of course is the official tally. Reports that I have from un-official sources say the number of people martyred is around 100.
The peaceful procession was the victim of a deadly blast which ripped through the procession at around 4:20 PM. I had left the procession only a little while earlier.
Within minutes, shops and buildings were ablaze. I have to make it a point here, every time Shia’s are targetted in Karachi, attention is always diverted towards such actions of unknown miscreants - the incident forgotten and the blame shifted to ‘angry mobs’ – obviously blaming those who had survived the attack.
Islam pe hum martay rahay martay raheinge!

Hogi na kam juloos-e-Hussain ki Zeb-o-Zain, Likheinge hum Alam kay Pharairay pe Ya Hussain!
Sun Kar Ye Ism-e-Pak Nahi Zaalimo ko Chaiyn, Un se Na mit Sakay Ga Gham-e-Shah-e-Mashraqain!
Lekin Tamam Zulm-o-Shaqawat kay Bawajood…
Hum Ya Hussain Ya Hussain Kartay Raheinge! Islam Pe Hum Martay Rahay Martay Raheinge!
Eik Karbala hai Aaj bhi seeno kay darmiyaan, Ruktay Nahi hai Majlis-o-Matam kay Kaarwaan!
Kitni Aziyatein hain Magar Har Taraf yahan, Ab bhi Hussainiat ka Mukhalif hai ye Jahan!
Lekin Tamam Zulm-o-Shaqawat kay Bawajood…
Hum Ya Hussain Ya Hussain Kartay Raheinge! Islam Pe Hum Martay Rahay Martay Raheinge!
My heart bleeds; will tear you down!
Dec 6th

December 04, 2009 – You ruthlessly attacked and killed over 40, almost half of whom were children. You attacked worshipers of the Almighty and I am sure, to absolutely the very core of my heart, HE will not spare you!
Shame on you too, Zardari, for sitting in your protected castle and doing everything in your capacity to encourage US-Indian-Israeli interests in Pakistan and letting their forces wreck havoc on our land! Shame on you for marching brutally over the very fundamental policies of your wife! You are a dictator and nothing more!
As those who were martyred have headed off to their eternal abode in religious zeal and full military honour, I see hope and light at the end of the tunnel. This is a desperate act showing how close to elimination the CIA is in its covert operations inside Pakistan. We know you are well prepared, but we are better! The land is ours and we have used this advantage brilliantly to strike you where it hurts!
What was the point targeting and deliberately killing children?
Besides 16 children, an army major general, a brigadier, two lieutenant colonels, a major and a number of soldiers were among those killed in a multi-pronged attack at the Parade Land Askari mosque that involved grenade throwing, firing from automatic guns and deadly explosions. The siege ended after two suicide bombers blew themselves up.
“Like every Friday my son had accompanied me to the mosque. Now he is dead and I am standing here in front of you,” said a highly disturbed elderly man, his clothes soaked in blood.
You will repent, CIA (Taliban)! And WE WILL TEAR YOU DOWN!!
Speak Up! Rise!
Jul 14th
Let us find opportunity in these times of distress. Someone has to stand up. Someone has to pave the way for the oppressed to come forward. Enough of the tolerance. Enough of the silence. It is time we spoke up. It is time we regrouped. It is time we mobilized all our energies to serve ‘Millat-e-Pakistan’ and our religion.
It is time we raised our voice again – like we did last year – and I am thankful to all those who joined this call in numbers back then. It is time we called for an end to Israeli terrorism!
We mean peace! We call for justice, equality and assurance of basic human rights to those who are oppressed only for being Muslim!
Let this be known to the world: Terrorists are’nt ours! They’re Israel’s!

Habib Jalib and the people
Mar 22nd
This post about renowned poet and activist, Habib Jalib, is mostly from Wikipedia. As stated on the website, he was a Marxist-Leninist and aspired to the ideals of Communism. He was a member of the Communist Party of Pakistan; later when the Communist Party was banned and started working under the banner of the National Awami Party, Jalib joined the NAP. He expressed his beliefs openly and paid heavily for them. Habib Jalib spent most of his life in Jail and the rest on the streets.
Due to his daring revolt against the order of the day (in Ayub’s era), Jalib was banned from official media but he remained undeterred. He rather started a tirade against the tyranny with more resolution. It reached its zenith when Fatima Jinnah decided to contest elections against Ayub Khan. All democratic forces rallied around her and at her election meetings, Jalib used to recite his fiery poems in front of an emotionally-charged crowd. His most popular poem at that time was:
Maan kay paon talay jannat hai idhar aa jao
(The paradise is under the feet of the mother. So come into her fold).
And here I am, sharing a beautiful recitation of one of his famous write-ups: “Main ne Uss se Ye Kaha”
