Going out on your own as an Entrepreneur
3Glen Bickenstaff, a seasoned entrepreneur, wrote these beautiful (and completely relatable) lines at Inc.com:
Someone once asked me what it was like going out on my own as an entrepreneur. I told them it was like jumping out of an airplane with all the materials needed to build a parachute. An entrepreneur must be willing to take a risk.
Exit Strategy? Zardari may resign due to ill-health
4
When I heard Zardari had flown out of the country in an air-ambulance to Dubai in a rush, I decided to call a friend close to the political big-wigs in Islamabad. I was told that the President’s “Pace-Maker” had developed problems and that his situation was indeed “critical”.
I was also informed that his children, those who weren’t in UAE, were also asked to reach the country.
That said, our media is abuzz with rumour that the President may resign on ill-health grounds, which is a perfect exit-strategy for a scandal-hit President who has weathered out extreme pressures over the past 4 years but this time, it all seems to be melting down for him as charges of treason are thrown at him.
Some quarters believe the President will not return to Pakistan after calls for a joint-session of parliament on the memo-gate issue were shunned by opposition parties and the military leadership.
He may be genuinely ill, however, let us all pray for the safety and well being of Pakistan.
The Game as it Unfolds
4
No, this is not me talking about politics. This is me, the entrepreneur, writing these lines. And the internet is the game I’m talking about. The internet has undergone a radical shift over the past couple of years, it has transformed from an “internet of hyperlinks and search engines” to an “internet of PEOPLE”.
The focus – PEOPLE. We recently rolled out one of our projects for public consumption, discussed in an introductory post here, that allows broadband users to search and improve their buying decisions. Again, the focus was on people.
My idea of a perfect internet is where people advise people – where you can connect with friends and family and take their advise on things – see what they have done, how they have addressed the same need in a matter of minutes.
The game will change, as we introduce people-to-people internet connectivity in applications and web portals in the coming days. This, for me, is a personal priority as part of my vision – how I see the use of internet evolving in Pakistan. No big plans yet, there is plenty of opportunity within our borders.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi joining the PTI?
3
Following Imran Khan’s huge public gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, political temperature in the country has been on a constant rise. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, following his resignation/removal from the post of Foreign Minister by the sitting PPP government has been extremely vocal against the sitting government, which he was part of until recently.
News has been making the rounds that me might either join the PML-N or Imran Khan’s PTI.
The Express Tribune is reporting that Shah Mehmood Qureshi has taken his decision and will be formally announcing his affiliation with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a rally this November 27.
The Newspaper has quoted a spokesperson of the PTI in this regard:
A spokesperson for the PTI said that Qureshi had met PTI Chairman Imran Khan before Eidul Azha and is expected to join the party soon.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi will be resigning from his National Assembly seat before he makes the official announcement. In recent days, several prominent names have been announcing their joining of the PTI including the grandson of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
Winds of change are blowing harder as Pakistan braces itself for political activity that has probably NEVER been witnessed before. Will Imran Khan and his flock be able to handle the pressure?
Only time will tell.

Yakja – Relief Efforts For Flood Effected People 2011
0
We did this together last year, 2010, in our own capacities as a group of friends. We named the group “Yakja”. As floods due to heavy rains have made their way into people’s lives once again this year, we have decided to re-group and begin our activities again to extend a helping hand to those effected by the heavy flooding.
YAKJA group has decided to start a Relief operation for affectees of unusual heavy moonsoon rains in Interior Sindh – The start of this week showed us how continuous downpour can paralyze a big city like Karachi – Imagine the devastation that has been caused by weeks of continuous rain and subsequent urban and rural flooding in different cities and villages around Badin, Naushero Feroz, Sanghar, Thatta etc.
Based on the experience of flood relief and rehabilitation operations done last year, we have geared up a volunteer team and are assessing the impact to carry out a targeted relief operation in coming weeks. Our aim is to ensure transparent delivery of Relief goods to our countrymen who look forward to our help in this hour of need.
Our first target is to provide relief items including Ration packs and Shelters to 500 families – We look forward to your generous contribution towards this cause. Our volunteer team will ensure on-ground delivery of all goods so that each penny of donation is spent towards the relief effort. You can pledge your donations to our team members by sending your contact details and pledge amount by email to yakjahh@gmail.com
Keep following us on www.yakja.org and Facebook group “YAKJA”
