The Synergy Of A Conflicting Mix Of Emotions

I had never imagined it would ever come down to this. I had never anticipated damage of such magnitude. But it has happened and is now a reality. Whatever I created over grains of sand is now falling apart, all around me.

Life twists and turns, it spills over from one sharp edge or the other and leaps into a new beginning every now and then, in several scattered directions and dimensions.

Frustration runs deep into my heart and soul, agony flows in my veins and the burning desire to change the world resides in my mind. A strange mix of emotions it is, but it is what it is and it is nothing but true.

You ask me why I live, I don’t have an answer. I prefer silence as my answer might scare you. Or it will incite hatred that you will not be able to control.

Tolerance, you do not understand. Patience, you don’t let anyone have. Aggression with haste is what defines You, and its control is what defines Me. I do not know whether success falls in your lap or mine, but I do know that my stand will leave its mark for the better, forever!

Who is speaking through Zardari? He has termed the freedom fighters in the Kashmir valley as ‘terrorists’. The U-turns and immature statements made by the PPP government and the President have been depressing and frustrating at the same time. They seem to be adamant to change what we have stood for over the past 60 years. Zardari has also claimed that the USA and Pakistan have an understanding on US attacks inside Pakistani territory. Suspicions are now running deep in the Pakistani society! Frustration is growing by the hour!

Freedom of the press and freedom of the media is one of the fundamentals of democracy, but if handed over to a nation not used to it, it may turn ugly. Nothing is hidden from the camera today. Be it “sources” on the inside or even fabricated stories. Being a corporate entity, money is what matters the most. Sometimes, our media seems to be speaking on someone else’s behalf. They stand sovereign, above any laws.

The Presidency, Zardari and the Constitution

While the country prepares itself for Presidential elections on the 6th of September, I wonder how the PPP co-chairman (Asif A. Zardari) has managed to qualify. It has never been about democracy at all, it has been about revenge since the day they took over the government in February, democracy is just a weapon in this game.

This column looks at the eligibility of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari strictly in the light of the constitution of Pakistan, Articles 41, 62 and 63. (more…)
