A Picture worth a thousand words. Al-Quds is ours!
Nothing can describe this picture and the emotions involved. It is for all those who look for lame excuses to sit at home and not participate in what they can. This is the best way you can contribute to the great cause against the real terrorists: United States of America and Israel!
This picture is from the Al-Quds rally held yesterday in Karachi, only moments after Over 60 people were killed and over 150 are still injured after a bomb ripped through the SAME rally against USA and Israel in Quetta.
Had he not come today, had the children, women and men not participated in the rally in such great numbers – the motive behind the Quetta blast would have stood successful. We defeated them, like we always have! Alhamdulillah! I am sure, a Muslim CAN NOT attack a rally of Shia’as taken out in support of their Sunni brethren in Palestine. Who would want to curb a hundred thousand people chanting Death to Israel, Death to America? Answer this question yourself! A Muslim Can not!

Ali, I appreciate your concern. Allow me to put a question back to you. Are you telling me that had the route not been changed past a barrier, the suicide bomber would have spared the procession?
I am sure you are a reasonable guy and understand that if had set out to do something as devastating as this, this would have happened under any circumstances.
To the concept of Azadari, it is a long debate as majority of our Shiaa brethren do not understand the very concept of Azadari. Rallies such as Al-Quds are the true spirit of Azadari. The *STAND* that Imam Hussain (AS) took. He could have simply avoided Yazid’s Baiyat by confining him to his home or escaping to any foreign land – which he did not.
Imam Khomeini (RA) did not say this for the Iranian Nation, he said it for all Shia’s.
Another clarification – it is NOT the ISO, it always involves the JSO and Shia Ulema Council Pakistan – a united rally just like any other juloos we stand up for. I am not debating ISO or JSO here, they have their own short-comings and I am a supporter of absolutely NONE of them.
I hope it answers your concerns. I can share the Fatwa and a further discussion on the very concept and philosophy of Azadari that we so easily forget if you wish to prolong this.

okay, so i will take your comments one at a time.
1) the very concept of azaadri is understandable, yet people tend to ignore it. Again by no means I say that i am against Youm-al-quds only that in the very same religion saving one’s own life is also permissible and to the extent that if you are certain of death you can lie and it is obligatory to save yourself. Let’s put aside ISO and JSO (both have high short comings) but my brother the suicde bomber could have gotten in no doubt but what about the firing. My question still remains that who and why was the procession diverted to meezan chowk when the police was saying NOT to go there? Then why do you blame the police? A suicide bomber will blow himself up no matter what, then atleast listen to the officials, lives could have been saved. It is a bitter truth but the leadership (who ever it was) did played its role (un-intentionally) in getting people killed.
FYI – coming out on roads will make not one single **** of difference to america. May be awareness programs, seminars etc will do better, EDUCATE the nation about this issue! Azaadari is without doubts an integral element for our survival but so is the use of common sense.
wsalam. Ya Ali Madad -
Common sense would have asked Imam Hussain (AS) to leave women and children at home, Ali. Let us for once get rid of Western concepts of Common Sense and all that has led us astray.
From your comment, I see that we are at no disagreement on the concept. That is good. But regarding the responsibility, I’d stick to the fact that it is the government’s responsibility. Right from Zia’s time where roots of this menace were planted. Agreed, yeah? Hope so.
We also need to understand that seminars, education and what ever you are talking about will eventually lead to coming out to the streets to TAKE CONTROL of what is OUT OF CONTROL. Agreed? Seminar attend kar k ghar bethne se kya haasil ho ga?
That is my point. I’m talking of the next step after seminars and all. That has to happen. Aur jo loug nikal k aatay hain, they already have the awareness and understanding, Masha Allah, for rallies such as Al-Quds. We need to educate the rest who do NOT come out.

Okay, Imam Hussain(a.s) when traveling from Medina had no intentions to be at Karbala, he was going to Koofa as once his father Imam Ali(a.s) had done (during the days of 1 2 3).
I am just presenting different view perspectives to the matter, agreed on the Zia pat as well as coming on the street part after realizing the issue, but what next? what happened? 80 people got killed, we protested, everyone went home and on to the next big news. What is the leadership doing? Where are those who were leading the rally now?
FYI – only for about 1hr.. but i did participated in the rally.

Brother Ali, Coming out on the roads is a sign of unity, and strength, and I’m sure America does notice that..Funny how you negate the Mujtahideen when you talk against processions on the roads, brother it was these acts of coming out on the roads and raising voice against the wrong that led to revolutions around the world! I’m sure Al-Quds Rallies concern the west!
-
Brother ali, the attack on the quetta was definitely planned, suicide bombers dont leisurely roam around the city and look out for people to *one in a blue moon* exceed the procession routes! Even if they hadn’t changed course, this was bound to happen. As far as the rallies on the road is concerned, to raise voice against is an obligation, not doing so is considered to be a great sin. America giving a “whatever” to the rallies should not concern us, atleast America knows we still care for our Muslim brothers, its such rallies, and processions that warn them that we’ll come after them the on the decided day InshaAllah! Ever wonder why the gora’s keenly telecast Shia juloos and Rally footages?
and when you mention Imam Hussain (AS) not having the intention to go to Karbala, did he or did he not know what was bound to happen on that soil? He could have stayed back, but he knew that a stand was to be taken for the sake of Islam!
-
1) somewhat agreed somewhat still dis-agreed. Never the less the importance of carrying out such processions can not be denied, but one should cater for all necessary precautions.
2) Obviously, Imam(a.s) knew all this, but that’s a whole new discussion as to why he went on with the route. Muhib-imam had asked him not to go from Madina too, but obviously it was a case of “hujat-tamam” as well as the ultimate sacrifice “zibah-e-azeem”. None the less end of discussion. Period.
wsalam. Ya Ali Madad -
For sure. A picture speaks more than a thousand words! n great link Salma. I’ll admit – I never knew about Al-Quds day. So thanks you alot for teh info!
N it’s just human nature to claim you’re better than the rest of the lot. And believeing in all these sects… we mostly forget that we are MUSLIMS! On the Day of judgment Allah wont ask if your sunni or shia. He’ll only want to know if you were a GOOD MUSLIM!

It is very astonishing for us that people are unable to understand the terrorists under the name of Pakistani Taliban. The rally was against USA and Israel then how come these religious extremists attacked them? It clearly identifies that these people do not belong to any sect or religion, these are pure terrorists working for people behind the scene. This whole War On Terror is designed, not to catch Osama as he is probably already with the planners, its because they want to destroy our countries.

Nice post ammar, but with all due respect to the Al-Qudus day and the issues related to it I do want to ask a question, not from you in particular but from all the ISO leaders. Why the hell did the crowd break the barriers and walked towards meezan chowk? when the police officials said that it was NOT included in the official route plan? Who lead them there? I being an active shia truly believe in azadari and will always stand by it and defend it but Al-Quds is not a part of the azadari, for most parts of it the day could have been celebrated conducting seminars and protests inside imam-bargahs. Who is responsible for the death of 80 innocent people? There is a dire need for shias’ to re-think what they have done. By no means i am saying that we should let down juloos related to muharam or azaadari but Youm Al-Quds? Imam Khomeni had told the iranian nation to observe this day rigorously. I just want to know that will ISO accept the killings of these people? obviously not, and if not then i would love to note who diverted the crowd to meezan chowk.
