gholizadeh20090924052157359It is important for us, as Pakistani’s, to really stand up to the threat we face and address the ‘Creeping American Occupation‘ that I referred to in my previous post. For this, we can and we should take inspiration from the stand the Islamic Republic in our neighborhood has taken up for the past 30 years.

We stand today – many say – as the 5th largest army of the world. A nuclear armed country with a nation willing to sacrifice every drop of its blood in the name of sovereignty and religion.

Allow me to refer to Iranian President Ahmedinejad’s speech at the UN General Assembly ahead of  which he had vowed to cut-off the hands of Iranian enemies. During his speech at the UN General Assembly, he boldly criticized Israel and the atrocities it commits against innocent Palestinian women and children. A symbolic walk-out by a few countries did not weaken him. He said what he wanted to.

Ahmadinejad: Zionist Regime committing genocide

“How can one imagine that the inhumane policies in Palestine may continue to force the entire population of a country out of their homeland for more than 60 years by resorting to force and coercion; to attack them with all types of arms and even prohibited weapons,” Ahmadinejad said at the 64th UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

To the chagrin of the international community, the occupiers are called “peace-lovers”, Ahmadinejad said, hinting at Israel.

Ahmedinejad went on to criticize capitalism, warning the world that it was nearing its end.

I ask the so-called ‘leaders’ of our country:

  • What has the west been able to achieve by bullying Iran?
  • What has Iran’s reaction to such bullying been?
  • Has Iran been taken to the stone-age?
  • Why can’t we, in Pakistan, stand up to the bullying? We are a stronger military power than Iran!

President Sahab! Get over your bottle of rum and focus! Oh and by the way, when is your next ‘tour’ of Pakistan? We’ll be eagerly waiting for you to address some problems of ours too! =)
