The cat fight now begins!
Monday, August 18, 2008 14:43The cat fight now begins after Musharraf has resigned from office, despite strong opinion polls sliding in his favour till late last night.
The issues that are going to split or rip the coalition apart are:
- Who will be the next President?
- How to restore the Judiciary in the next 72 hours.
Apart from that, most of us are worried about the following:
- The control of the ISI
- Integrity of Pakistan
- Sovereignty of Pakistan
- Nuclear Arsenal and American/CIA influence over it
I will Insha Allah write in detail on these issues soon. For now, I am disturbed at the very thought that Pakistan is now in the hands of world famous plunderers of the National Exchequer.
Musharraf had to quit, he was left with no other option, but the nation would have loved it if he could have revoked the NRO on his way out.

i cried for almost an hour when he said he resigns. for me Pakistan just lost its independence. Now we’ll be ruled once again by the west through the hands of our own government. Please, let us all PLEAD to the Almighty that he saves this country and its people from what we have brought upon ourselves. Ameen

I totally understand your feelings, Rakiah. This is how most of us are feeling. I will be writing in detail soon.

I couldn’t muster the strength to write anything on my own blog myself, but you’re right about the cat fight. However, rescinding the NRO before resigning would’ve created another chaos giving Nawaz the ultimate power he longs for. That would have also reeked of some personal vendetta. So, resigning quietly without hurting anything is the best way to go.

i think (and vigorously pray to Allah) that the next coup will be led by Pervez Kiyani. i see this as the only way our country can now be saved.

I’d agree, he would feel that the nation has betrayed him, but it is not so! It is a handful of corrupt politicians who have!

The nation DID betray him to an extent. How can they celebrate for Zardari against Musharraf?? Musharraf’s policies worked wonders, and the changes are visible!! Who else did this much??
