I laughed at myself, I laughed at my surroundings, I laughed at what fate has in store for you and you never know what could happen in the next instant, I laughed at how fate can manipulate your life, I laughed at a number of other things – not that I was being ridiculous and laughing non-stop in public, I was laughing in my heart of course! How could I have ended up in Abu Dhabi in a matter of a couple of hours – totally unprepared and unplanned!

I got back from my university at around 15 minutes to 6 pm. I hadn’t even changed and opened ‘Skype’ on my laptop to speak to my parents. We kept talking for around 15 minutes when I said I wish I could get to Abu Dhabi for this weekend. I knew I had tickets at home. Plus, a 5 day holiday starting the next day for elections and everything!

I called up the Etihad Airways office only to find them closed! Sigh! I told my father, who conveniently called up the Etihad call center in Abu Dhabi and got the booking done, the E-ticket arrived to y mailbox and here I am! In a cab at 8 – a person who did not even change and bad looking shave.

1 am UAE standard time – I was in Abu Dhabi and in the comfort of my big lovely bedroom by 1.30 am! I can’t thank Allah enough for making things work out smoothly and so soon!

If life permit, I’ll see you guys back in Karachi soon – I hope!
